Moving on up!!

Well, today I was called to be the 1st Counselor in Young Women's. I have been the 2nd Counselor for 2 years. So I guess you could say I am moving on up. I will be Britni's leader so that will be fun. However, we have so few young women that actually come that we always meet together for our lessons and activities. I wish we could meet separately sometimes. I think we might get more young women out that way. But maybe not. You never know. It's hard when the parents don't support the program and are inactive themselves.

Poor Grandma had an experience on Friday. Samuel got sick at school and Grandpa, Lynn and I were at the temple in Portland. She doesn't drive. So Samuel had to stay at school for another hour until his school was done then come home on the bus. She tried to call my sis-in-law Carmine to pick him up but she wasn't home. Then she didn't know how much medicine to give him for his fever. Good thing we have cell phones. I will have to leave her a list next time of people she can try for picking up sick kids at school. I'm just grateful that she was here to watch Samuel and take care of things while we go to the Temple. She does a great job. She even does my laundry!! I know you are all jealous now!! :)

Love ya all!!!

1/27/2011

I haven't written for most of the week because there is not much to write. The boys won their last game in Klickitat on Monday. We all went to the game. It is a very winding road that we have to drive to get to Klickitat. It reminds me of Dooley Mountain by Baker. Benjamin got car sick on the way there and the lid was still on the throw up bucket when it all came out. YUCK!!! Luckily Jacob and Benjamin are about the same size in clothes. So we had to go get Jacobs pants from him when we got there and Jacob had to wear his uniform home. Luckily no sickness on the way home!!!

Britni played her best basketball game ever on Tuesday night at home against Granger. Granger beat them last time by 7 points. We beat them by 10 or something like that. Britni had 15 points, 5 steals and 2 assists. She has really improved this season. Despite the coach who doesn't know how to coach. "What should we do now girls??" Is her favorite question. Britni has 2 more games left and then end of season for her.

Britni signed up for EFY in Rexburg Idaho for July 25-30th. She is very excited. We got a scholarship this year so that helps alot with the cost.

Tonight is the big Pinewood Derby here. Jacob and Benjamin both have a car. It won't be much of a derby though because we have so few boys in cub scouts right now.

Daniel had a court of honor last night and he got his 2nd Class badge and boy scout badge and 3 merit badges. He is working on 3 more merit badges. It's like pulling teeth to get him to work on it.

Jacob almost has his Weblos badge then he can work on his arrow of light.

That's it as far as kids go. Benjamin and Samuel are having fun at school and playing their computer and wii games.

Lynn was very excited over the BYU win last night against San Diego State. He loves his BYU Basketball and Football.

I am cleaning houses here and there and have started to try to get all the scrapbooks caught up. I am on Britni's still. She sure takes a lot of pictures. I'm glad that I am going digital as soon as I am caught up. The scrapbook pages aren't as cute as I would like them to be because I am in such a hurry to finish them all up.

I hope everyone has Sun Shine today like we do. I love these sunny days!!

Just Another Day in Paradise

Today is the boys last Basketball game of the season in Klickitat. I am not excited or anything!!! I love watching them play and to see how much they grow and learn from playing but I will tell you that I am tired from all the running around from practices and games and ect.

Now for the funniest thing. Lynn ran out of books to read and the BYU Basketball game hadn't started yet on Saturday. We had a beautiful day much like today. I love this weather. When I hear of all my family that still have snow, I thank my Heavenly Father that I live here!! Sorry guys with the snow!! :)Anyway, back to my story. Lynn always says he hates our dogs. They bark (not very often at night) but still, they get their chains caught in the middle of the night and we have to go out and undo them from their chains to get sleep, they don't even get all the gophers or mice that are running around here. He always says it would be cheaper to just shoot them!! Now you get the picture of how he supposedly feels about these dogs. :) I caught him playing fetch with them on Saturday. I had to take blackmail pictures just to prove to everyone that my husband does like the dogs. :) Here are the pictures.

Hmmmm!!!

Britni got her permit yesterday. However, we have been so busy that she hasn't driven yet. Lynn doesn't want to teach her. He says that Driver's Ed can do that. However, Britni would rather that we teach her. So today after school maybe we will be able to get her behind the wheel before her basketball game.

The boys lost their game last night. Jacob had 4 points overall Daniel had 2. They only have one more game and it's in Klickitat on Monday and then their season is done. Yea!!! Britni has 2 weeks left, I think.

Then things can slow down a bit. I hope anyway. I love my kids and I love going and watching them play and cheering them on but it does start to wear on you after a while of it.

I have another Dr.'s appointment today. It's a long story. I will probably save it for another day. Let's just say that Mom is sharing some of her genes with me. I'm not liking it either.

I hope every one has a great weekend. It's a rainy rainy day today. So Be Happy!!!

Our Parents are Singing Sensations!! :)

Mom and Dad sang a duet in Sacrament Meeting today. They did a lovely job. It was nice to be able to sit in the audience and listen to them. They listened to us so many times while we sang in Church and other places.

Daniel went on a very cushy winter camp out this weekend. They ended up at a park just 20 minutes away that had heated cabins and bathrooms. How lame is that. They did do Geo caching in the rain the next day. Everything was soaked because they had pick ups without canopies bringing the stuff home in the rain. So they did suffer a little bit. They went sledding also and had snowball fights so a fun time for all those boys. Daniel also gave a talk in church today. He did well.

Britni has been trying to catch up on sleep. Friday night she had a game in Naches that is about 1 1/2 hours away. However, the coaches and bus drivers get a free meal at a place called Miners in Yakima. So after the game they had to stop there. There were 5 other Basketball teams from surrounding areas there already when they got there. It took them 1 1/2 hours just for the food!!! She didn't get home until 1 a.m. Either we go to the next few away games so we can take her home or just suffer the consequences of late nights. At least she is having fun on her small little C team. She plays the whole game and is getting lots of experience.

Jacob started playing ball for this scrimmage camp at the school. Our friend, Bob, is the coach and needed an extra player and he recruited Jacob. Jacob had a great game yesterday. In Daniels terms "He was on Fire!!" Daniel said that about his last game!! Funny boys.

Benjamin and Samuel are just having fun being kids. Benjamin is taking piano along with the other kids and he is also a Wolf in scouts. Samuel is happy playing with his brothers and loving math in school.

Not much else going on. I hope everyone has a great week. Love to you all!!

DIY Groupie

O.k. My family says I have a problem. I love the DIY channel. I wish to have House Crashers, Bath Crashers or even Yard Crashers come to my house and renovate. Of course, I am just dreaming. But what a dream!!! My husband and kids think I am nuts but I get so many great ideas and I look at my house and see so many possible projects. If only we had unlimited funds!!!!

Britni starts drivers education tonight. I'm a little nervous to have her on the road. :) I just can't believe how much we have to pay for her to take Driver's Education. $400. She can't get her drivers license unless she has Driver's Ed. What a sham!! Mom and Dad said that we didn't have to pay for drivers ed when we went to school because it was done through the school. I really really wish that we could have drivers ed through the school and not a "driving school"!!

And we wonder where our money goes????

Have a great day!!! Love to you all!!

Another Bishop Bischoff

Yesterday my brother-in-law, David, was called as Bishop of the Goldendale Ward. Lynn is so happy to say Bishop Bischoff and it's not him!! We were all surprised but really happy for him and his family. They will be blessed greatly for this service.

It looks like we will not be having a Morgan Family Reunion this summer. Everyone is so busy. I am looking at our Summer schedule and it is crazy!! Britni still needs to figure out which EFY to go to. She wants to go to one of the BYU College ones so there is more LDS people around. It is such a different feeling being at an LDS school rather than one that is not LDS. Last year she went to Forest Grove to the College there and there was a wrestling camp going on and cussing and other things that were not good. We figure we will just plan our vacation around her EFY. She got a scholar ship so it won't be as expensive. We are very grateful for that.

Well, it will be a quiet night tonight. Daniel and Jacob will be playing Basketball in Troutlake. Jacob was sick with the flu all weekend so I hope he has enough energy to play well.

Well, not much else going on today. Tomorrow I have a Dr.'s appointment. Just a check up. I haven't had one in 5 years so I figure it's about time. I'm trying to find a family Dr. that can just take care of everything. My last one moved after I had Samuel. He was really good too. So I hope Dr. Richardson will be just as good.

I hope everyone has a very good day. I love ya all. :)

Oops! Try Again!!

Disregard the last post. My mouse decided to die on me just as I was posting. Go figure!!

I did miss a couple days of blogging so I will update everyone. Britni had a great Birthday on Tuesday. The Cheesecake turned out really yummy and I have only had one bite of it. So Yea for me!!

Wednesday Benjamin had an orthodonist appointment in The Dalles. He had to get a "w" and some spaces back in September. He may get to get his "w" off in about 3 months. Yea. Then a very quick shopping trip to Fred Meyer and Safeway. Then hurry home for Benjamin to make it for his Piano Lesson. Which he did. Then Young Women's later that night. We have several women in our ward who make jewelry. So one of them came and helped the Young Women make memory bracelets. I made one too. They are very cute and easy to make.

Thursday was actually a pretty good day until after school. Then all the fun began. Pick up Jacob from school and take him to Weblos. Then make and eat dinner at 4:15 so I could go pick up Jacob from Scouts and take him and Daniel back to the school for a Basketball game. Lynn picked up Britni from practice and then took Benjamin to scouts and after scouts came out to the Basketball game too. They lost the game but that's o.k. they have fun playing.

Jacob decided to get the flu during the night. So he is home today sick. I went to clean a house and came back home. Now I am working on my Young Women's lesson for Sunday.

That's our week in a nutshell. Britni is in Granger tonight for a Basketball game. So a quiet night with the boys. Have a great weekend everyone. Love to you all.

Britni's Birthday and a Puzzle Completed

Today Britni turns 15 years old. I remember the day she was born and how unprepared I was for her. She is the smartest, funnest girl in my life!! I am so grateful that she has a testimony of the gospel and that she tries so hard to follow the prophet. I love her so much!!!

We finished a hard puzzle last night. I think Lynn did most of it. He doesn't have a book to read at the moment. Here's a picture of it. If anyone wants to try it, I'll mail it to them!!! :)

I hope everyone has a super day!!! Love to you all!! Now off to make Britni's Cheescake for her Birthday!!! Yummy!! too bad I can't eat it. Maybe just a bite won't hurt!! :)

Happy New Year 2011

I hope everyone had a very Happy New Year. So far so good as far as our family is concerned. Everyone is back in school today. Aww the peace and quiet. It only last for a few hours. I have thought on New Years Resolutions. I actually found an article about how to make a resolution stick. Here the things the article recommended:

1. Write it down. (check)
2. Manage expectations (If you break it in the first week it's o.k. but keep trying).
3. Get a buddy to do it with you. (check, I think)
4. Revisit it (My sis-in-law Marvelle is very good at this)
5. Be Smart (Be specific, measurable and attainable goals)
6. Don't remove, add (Replace bad habits with good ones)
7. Make it public (what I am doing now)
8. Stick to a schedule (Plan for the goals in your calendar)
9. Create a vision board (Cut out images and phrases from magazines or whatever and grab some photos and place them on a poster and keep it in plain view)(I'm going to try this one)
10. Celebrate!! The joy of the resolutions is the journey!! Accept that this is an ongoing process and celebrate your experiences.

So after reviewing all of this. I will write a few of my personal goals. We make our family goals for the year at FHE tonight.

My Personal:
1.Lose 20 pounds (Yes I have gained that much since you last saw me)
2.Finish scrapbooking kids scrapbooks by hand so I can go digital!!
3.Scrapbook Lynn's Mission pictures
4.Read the Sunday School Lesson each week and the Ensign every month. (I've gotten a little lax in this area)
5. Write on my blog at least 3 times a week Maybe more if I get into the habit.

I figure 5 is a good start. A few of these are very attainable. The losing 20 pounds will be a challenge but I have already started and have lost a few pounds already. I have started with the Sunday School lesson and Ensign reading too. So I am doing pretty good. I think.

So what resolutions do you have this year?
